It is finally online – our brand new free streaming platform! Reeperbahn Festival will take place in Hamburg this year as a pandemic edition, however, around 100 public shows can be viewed online.
Because we want you to experience Reeperbahn Festival 2020 with us from all over the world! From Wednesday, 16 September on stream.reeperbahnfestival.com, in cooperation with ARTE, Concerts and Norddeutscher Rundfunk, we will present daily many concerts by artists such as Gisbert zu Knyphausen & Kai Schumacher (world premiere live from Michel), Tina Dico, Drangsal, Akua Naru, Dillon, Maeckes & die Gitarre, Tom Gregory, Bukahara and Niels Frevert, readings,
award ceremonies (Tony Visconti’s ANCHOR jury is this year made up of Melanie C., Markus Kavka, Brody Dalle, Frank Dellé und Darcy Proper!), performances, discussions und much more.
If you would like to know what is really influencing culture and politics in these times, you can digitally sneak yourself into the star-studded opening event DOORS OPEN (16 September, 6:30 pm). MTV and RBF legend Ray Cokes will be giving personal insights with fascinating guests into the highlights of the digital programme daily at 4:30 pm. Just like the real Reeperbahn Festival, you can just hop over from Molotow to the Festival Village – only this time with just a mouse click!
This year, we will be streaming our programme for accredited industry visitors live from Klubhaus St. Pauli. Around 150 programme items discussing current issues of the music, film, games and advertising industries will be available from Thursday 10:00 am into the early evening. Amongst around 200 international speakers, young socialist leader Kevin Kühnert, Sabine Verheyen (MEP, CDU) and Klaus Ernst (MdB, Die Linke) oder Erhard Grundl (MdB, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) will discuss the effects of the corona crisis. The superstar of media theory Douglas Rushkoff, artists such as Westbam, Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, TikTok-Stars such as Lukas Rieger and Aylo will also speak alongside industry heavyweights such as Helen Smith, Patrick Mushatsi-Kareba, Peter Elliot, Stefan Thanscheidt or Steve Zapp at our sessions.
